Air Compressor Blow Down Valves

Our blow down valves are normally closed air actuated on-off valves appropriate for use with air compressors.

Air Compressor Blow Down Valve Operation

Installed downstream from the air-oil separator, the blow down valve serves two functions.

At start-up, the valve closes to permit the air-oil separator pressure to build up.
At shut-down, when a pressure is applied, the valve opens to bleed the air-oil separator to atmosphere. The blow down valve may also be used as a by-pass valve to bleed air through the compressor at start-up.
