Tabular Support (TAB) Benefits
- TAB is a form of pure aluminum oxide fired at 1900° C. to remove practically all porosity and shrinkage. The
properties created are ideal for inert bed support.
- TAB minimizes side reactions that occur with other products, such as ceramic balls. High purity (> 99.7% alumi-na) and super low silica (< 0.1% silica) delivers this important feature.
- TAB is used as a thermal reservoir and bed support for catalysts and other refinery applications while also being used as an over burden to prevent catalyst from being carried out of the bed.
- TAB eliminates silica fluoride salt formation due to its' high purity.
- TAB is used as isomerization bed support because it has nil water adsorption to prevent destruction of the catalysts.
- TAB is used by various refineries as bed support for a wide variety of hydroprocessing catalysts.
- TAB is used in Claus reactors to permit easy disposal of all alumina products rather than screening out silica products.
- TAB does not produced fines or dust to contaminate the product stream.
- TAB is unaffected by oxidizing or deducing atmospheres.
- TAB is practically insoluble in almost all aqueous acid and alkaline solutions.
