A simple design and the use of proven refrigeration components make HG dryers easy to maintain and dependable. Proven refrigeration components are incorporated into rugged powder coated steel cabinets. HG Series dryers use environmentally friendly refrigerants to deliver consistent reliability.
  • Continuous-duty refrigeration systems reliably deliver 33°F - 39°F dew point
  • Select refrigeration components maximize value across each design flow range
  • Dry compressed air is reheated on all models to prevent pipeline sweating

HG Series Refrigerated Dryers Models HG10 to HG50

Deltech HG10 to HG50 Refrigerated Dryer
Models HG10 to HG50
Deltech HG Series 10-50 SCFM refrigerated dryer models have the quietest operation in the industry. So quiet you almost cannot tell if they are even running. Noise sensitive areas like laboratories, commercial HVAC systems, light manufacturing and, a host of “point-of-use” operations, enjoy the quiet benefits and dry compressed air that models HG10 thru HG50 deliver.

Static Condenser for Sound Attenuation
The static condenser design provides a benefit not normally found in a dryer in this flow range – warm dry compressed air. Without it, water vapor in the ambient condenses onto cold uninsulated pipelines causing them to sweat like a cold beverage in the summer.

In operation, cool compressed air exiting the evaporator at a 39°F dew point pre-cools the warm compressed air as it enters the dryer. Inlet air temperature is reduced to save space and energy. Coil spacing increased 400% to resist fouling from dirt and dust.

Warm saturated air enters the Evaporator where it is cooled by refrigerant being controlled by a Constant Pressure Expansion Valve. Water vapor condenses into a liquid for removal at the moisture separator by an Automatic Drain. The cold, dry air is reheated as it passes through the Reheater, to prevent pipeline sweating. The Static Condenser eliminates the need for a cooling fan and simplifies the system.

HGE Refrigerated Dryers Models HGE75 and Larger

Deltech HGE75 to HGE500 Refrigerated Dryer
Models HGE75 to HGE500
These refrigerated dryers use traditional refrigerated drying technology. A no-nonsense space-saving package with established component designs in a streamlined package make HG refrigerated dryers a first choice.

These full-featured dryers achieve a high-rate of heat transfer with non-fouling, smooth-tube copper heat exchangers. Long admired for its ability to transfer heat quickly and efficiently, tubular copper maximizes heat transfer surfaces while minimizing costly pressure drop.

The hot gas bypass valve (HGBV) precisely controls the flow of refrigerant. Connected to field proven capillary tube sensors it delivers stable pressure dew point temperatures and avoids freeze-ups – even under no-load conditions.

Warm saturated air enters the air-to-air heat exchanger where it is precooled by the outgoing chilled air, and then passes through the evaporator where it is further cooled by the refrigeration system. Water vapor condenses into liquid droplets to be removed by the Moisture Separator then, discharged from the dryer by an automatic drain. Chilled dry air returns through the air-to-air heat exchanger where it is reheated before exiting the dryer.

HG Series Refrigerated Dryer Sizing

Use the correction factors below to size the refrigerated dryer when operating conditions vary from the standard of 100 PSIG, 100°F compressed air inlet temperature, and 100°F ambient maximum.

For Example:
If you need 50 SCFM dry air and these are your conditions...
Model HG50 (50 SCFM maximum)
110°F compressed air inlet temperature
100 PSIG
110°F ambient temperature maximum

[model max scfm] * [correction factor 1 inlet air & pressure] * [correction factor 2 ambient air] = [corrected SCFM]

50 * .82 * .94 = 38.54 SCFM

A model HG50 is to small for this application. Substitute a HG75 and...

75 * .82 * .94 = 57.8 SCFM

The correct dryer for these conditions is a HG75.
